Chinese-English Translation I - CHN253
This unit introduces translation theories and skills and encourages their use in translation practice. Students will learn how to analyse Chinese texts in terms of their genre, style, register and potential readers of the text. Students will learn how to deliver the equivalent message in idiomatic English. Students will also become familiar with translation procedure and be able to identify and solve problems when translating from Chinese into English. This unit is for Chinese background speakers or students at an equivalent level.
