Greek D - AHIS309
This unit aims to help history students consolidate advanced skills in ancient Greek. The unit completes the systematic analysis of grammar (especially the structure of sentences) begun in AHIS308 and investigates a range of original texts. The texts studied include works by Thucydides, Homer and Xenophon, the Septuagint, and non-literary documents. The unit illustrates the concepts of dialectal variation and historical development in the classical and post-classical periods.
