Population, Markets and Labour Force - DEM256

This demography unit discusses the implications of demographic factors (for example, spatial distribution, age structure, labour force participation and household composition) for the business environment and the use of demographics in marketing and other business decision making. The main sources of such data are outlined and students are given hands-on experience of accessing and analysing census data. Some of the demographic techniques that are relevant to marketing/business studies are described. A segment of the unit is allocated to the methodology of sample surveys.
