Minor Independent Investigation I - ECED854
Students will be introduced to the process of writing a systematic review and other methods of systematic research synthesis. Established procedures such as those identified by The EPPI-Centre and The Cochrane Collaboration will be used to demonstrate how to conduct high quality reviews of studies using quantitative and/or qualitative methods. Students will use knowledge from previous units to identify an issue and ask a question that can be addressed using a systematic review. The process will support students in analysing, reflecting on and synthesising knowledge from previous units. It will also support students in creating a new perspective on existing knowledge through writing a systematic review. In turn, students will be supported to reflect on the implications of this knowledge in enhancing professional practice and/or scholarship in the early childhood sector.
