Overview and Aims of the Program |
The Bachelor of Commerce with the degree of Bachelor of Arts - Psychology is a four-year program which provides a joint qualification in Commerce and Psychology. This program lets you gain a comprehensive understanding of Commerce and business functions, strategy and skills whilst equipping you with a wide range of fundamental psychological concepts which will help you understand how people think, act and feel.
The Bachelor of Commerce component is a flexible degree which allows you the choice to complete a major from a variety of commerce/business disciplines.

12. use the concepts, language, major theories, and perspectives of the discipline to account for psychological phenomena (K, C)
13. identify relevant theory and concepts, relate these to appropriate methodologies and evidence, and draw appropriate conclusions (K, T, P, I, J)
14. demonstrate the capacity for critical thinking and independent learning to solve problems related to a range of issues, including behaviour and mental processes (K, T, P, I, J, L)
15. communicate concepts and results clearly and effectively both in writing and orally (C)
16. engage in a critical review of appropriate and relevant information regarding psychological processes and demonstrate analytical research skills in evaluating psychological literature (T, P)

Recognition of Prior Learning |

The program is subject to an ongoing comprehensive process of quality review in accordance with a pre-determined schedule that complies with the Higher Education Standards Framework. The review is overseen by Macquarie University's peak academic governance body, the Academic Senate and takes into account feedback received from students, staff and external stakeholders. |

Accreditation |
This is an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) accredited qualification.
Grade of ACCREDITATION WITHOUT CONDITIONS awarded by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council.
Some majors in the BCom have external accreditation (eg Human Resources).
Graduates will meet the requirements of both degrees and will therefore meet the requirements of the accreditation bodies. |
