Laboratory Experience and Training 2 - MEDI307

In this unit, students will develop knowledge and skills to participate in innovative research in the field of medical and health science. Topics covered include techniques for safe and professional conduct in research settings, appropriate research note-taking and record keeping, scientific communication in health and medical research and research ethics. This unit will provide placement opportunities for students in FMHS world-class research settings, so students gain valuable experience in how a professional research group operates. Here, students will contribute to research projects under the supervision of a senior researcher within FMHS. The research topic will vary depending on the placement, and may involve laboratory-based biology and genomic research, computational biology, information and organisational science.
