Modern Polish Prose and Poetry - PLH326

This unit examines some of the most representative texts of Polish prose and poetry. Students will read two of the six prescribed novels by such authors as W. Gombrowicz, Cz. Miłosz (Nobel Prize), T. Konwicki and S. Lem. Poetry will be represented by W. Szymborska (Nobel Prize), M. Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, H. Poświatowska, T. Różewicz, Z. Herbert, Cz. Miłosz. Reading the novels and poems will not only enrich vocabulary and knowledge of Polish literature but also will be an enjoyable activity. We hope that students will enjoy discovering an imaginative world of prose and poetry. Students will have an opportunity to study major works in Polish or English. A voluntary on-campus session will be held where you will have the opportunity to meet your lecturer and fellow students, to review and discuss difficult items before the end of the course. Interstate students will have an opportunity to revise the material in their online unit.
