Introduction to Criminology - PICT101

This unit aims to introduce students to the theory and practice of Criminology. It will explore definitions of crime, theories of crime and criminality and contemporary issues in criminology. With reference to relevant research and theory the unit aims to give students an appreciation of three broad areas, what is crime? who is a criminal? and the application of contemporary theory to contemporary social issues.
