Latin D - AHIS319
This unit aims to help history students consolidate advanced skills in ancient and medieval Latin. The unit completes the systematic analysis of grammar (especially the structure of sentences) begun in AHIS218 and investigates a range of original texts. The texts studied include works by Tacitus, Gervais of Tilbury, Caesar, the Letter of Cornelia, and non-literary documents. The unit illustrates the concepts of historical development and diversity in the classical and medieval periods.
