Reading Academic Texts in German II - INTS601
This unit is offered on a pass/fail basis.
This unit follows on from INTS600. Students will continue to develop their German vocabulary, in particular in their chosen research discipline, and they will gain more insight into grammatical structures of academic texts, practice language learning techniques, use relevant tools such as dictionaries. Students will hone their readings strategies, enabling them to unravel and translate complex texts. In this unit, students will work on texts of their choice directly related to their chosen field of research. They will also investigate some computer-based word indexes, translation programs and German-language web-sites.
