Health Law and Ethics - LAW571
This unit will introduce students to the rich area of multidisciplinary scholarship in health law and ethics. Applying an inquiry-based approach to learning, they will develop their understanding of the complex web of stakeholder interests, legal principles and institutions, ethics and philosophy, modern governance theory, social policy and health economics, which shape the development of legal policy in a range of controversial areas affecting human health. Students will critically review a major piece of research, participate in collaborative work, contribute to a research wiki and sharpen their integrative thinking skills to develop coherent proposals for socio-legal reform.
