Visual Arts: Sense of Place - ECHL312
In developing a specialised study of a 'sense of place', this unit integrates theory, criticism and practical experience in the visual arts. While initial study is situated within the Australian context, students are encouraged to move a geographical notion of a 'sense of place' into an area of their choice. Students have the opportunity to develop a series of images in response to their visual investigation of this thematic focus. The choice of media depends on students' prior experience. A range of two- and three-dimensional media is available. While facilities for digital technology are not available, students with an interest in and access to this media are welcome to work with this.
