Population, Markets and Labour Force - DEM256

This unit will introduce students to some important demographic trends in Australia and selected overseas countries (for example, spatial distribution, age structure, labour force participation and household composition), and discuss the implications of these trends for markets and labour forces. Students will also be introduced to some important methods of demographic analysis. The applications of these methods in the analysis of markets and workforce planning will be illustrated. A section of the unit will focus on sample survey methodology and its applications.
