Intermediate Chinese III - CHN223
Students will read set texts in modern and contemporary Chinese and render them into English as scholarly translations. This unit aims to develop reading, reading comprehension and translation skills at a scholarly level. Students will develop their vocabulary and language proficiency in their non-native language, through reading and translating texts across a broad range of topic areas. Students will also develop their understanding of the appropriateness of terminology and expression in scholarly translations across a range of technical, cultural, historical and linguistic contexts. This is an online unit and is suitable for both non-background and background speakers of Chinese and assumes a high level of English language proficiency.
