Neurophysiology - BIOL257

This unit aims to introduce you to the function of the human nervous system. The unit starts with the electrochemical basis of nerve cell communication. The neurophysiology of sensory and motor function is discussed with an emphasis on motor control. The unit ends with a brief treatment of the neurophysiological basis of language, learning and memory and an introduction to the role of the endocrine system in the regulation of body function. This unit is designed for degrees in Science, Medical Science and Chiropractic Science and may also be of interest to students studying psychology with an emphasis on physiology or wishing to gain entry into the graduate physiotherapy program.
