Rome and the Caesars - AHIS212

This unit comprises a study of Rome from the murder of Julius Caesar (44 BCE) to the end of the reign of Hadrian (138 CE). There is a large emphasis on political history, but attention is also paid to social, cultural and economic developments. Evidence is be drawn from documents, monuments and the literature of the period.
