Advanced Database Applications Development - ITEC870

This unit deals with theoretical and practical aspects in the design and implementation of database application systems. The goal will be to develop the student’s ability to create robust relational database designs by studying conceptual modelling, relational design and normalization theory. In the process, students will be introduced to tools such as PowerDesigner, Oracle10g database server, SQL99 standards and the Oracle propriety procedural extension to SQL: PL/SQL.
