Corporate Finance - ECFS866

This unit is concerned with the valuation of corporate assets and how they should be financed. It is based on the theory and methods developed in previous units, particularly ECFS865. The unit introduces a number of corporate finance tools, including financial modelling and financial statement analysis. There is considerable emphasis on valuation techniques, which are applied in the context of valuing companies as well as capital investment decisions. The unit explores advanced techniques such as APV, real options and residual income. Corporate financial strategy is analysed extensively from the viewpoint of its effect on corporate value, and real life situations. Other topics include mergers and acquisitions, fund raising and international investment decisions.
