Independent Writing - Create a Portfolio - CWPG822
Building on the skills and interests established in their previous writing units, students develop a portfolio of work in a genre of their choice, and explore creative writing as both artisanal practice and as cultural intervention and critique. The seminar-based sessions comprise writing workshops and discussions of weekly readings to develop a critical awareness of the broader national and international contexts in which their writing takes place. By the completion of this unit, along with units CWPG810 and CWPG811, students will have written a significant portfolio of creative work. Students wishing to publish in Australian journals in print or online are given practical advice and support. Assessment is based on the student's creative writing, and critical writing and discussion of the weekly readings, and writing workshop contributions.
