Ethics and Professionalism - AMED836

The practice of medicine requires a high level of ethical and professional development for its effective and responsible practice, whatever the area of your practice, there will always be ethical challenges and moments when you ask yourself "What is the right thing to do here?" The practice-based approach to ethics in this unit will use common clinical situations and dilemmas to explore end of life decisions, conflict of interest, consent, trust and regulation. Professionalism will encompass rights, privacy, confidentiality, advocacy, self-directed appraisal and development.
