DEM356: Demographic Techniques
This unit enhances the students' knowledge of the dynamics of population change by teaching them advanced quantitative demographic skills. Some of the topics covered include: testing the accuracy of data; curve fitting and demographic modelling; stable populations; multiple decrement tables; component analysis; and demography in medical sciences. Students are provided with hands-on experience of analysing demographic data for Australia and selected overseas countries.
