CUL233: Drama Practice
What is involved in making drama? And how can we find ways to think critically about this practice? This unit introduces students to the cultural studies analysis of performance/drama. It gives students experience in aspects of drama production, including acting and directing. This unit complements the department's other performance studies units (CUL 232 Seducing the Lens: Theories of screen performance, CUL 331 Performing Place, Space and Bodies), in particular, the workshop based units: CUL 230 Performance and Identity, CUL 330 Performance and Cultural Environments, and CUL341 Performative Events.
