Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy Selective Placement - PHTY903

This unit involves a five week full-time or equivalent part-time physiotherapy placement. Students will be able to preference the type of setting or area of physiotherapy practice. When preferencing students should select options that provide a further opportunity to consolidate their knowledge, skills and experiences to ensure attainment of the Physiotherapy Practice Thresholds in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Students may select a key area of physiotherapy (cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, neurological physiotherapy) and/or a setting (acute, rehabilitation or community care) and/or a particular age range (paediatric, adult or geriatric physiotherapy). Students will be required to demonstrate competence in specific clinical skills as well as the generic skills and attributes of physiotherapy professionals. Students will be expected to exceed the standards expected of entry-level physiotherapists in some aspects of their clinical performance.
