Disease Prevention and Health Promotion - HSYP805

This Unit aims to develop students’ abilities as future public health practitioners in disease prevention and health promotion. Expert speakers from not-for-profit organisations and from local government provide genuine insight to relevant current topics. Policy frameworks are central to health promotion and you will explore the role and functions of policy-making. The unit is delivered through lectures, tutorials and on-line activities. Assessable activities include pitching for funding for health promotion interventions, reviewing case studies and other evidence, and undertaking evaluations. The key skills you will develop include planning, designing and evaluating public health interventions and in working with key stakeholders.
