Polish Literary Genres - PLH325

This distance education course will introduce students to different Polish literary genres produced in Poland across different periods. We will explore issues and models of thought that formed the cultural and artistic climate and the representations of that climate in literary texts. We will canvass major themes, focal points and the diversity of writing styles in relation to particular text types, including theatrical plays, to encourage an informed reading of different genres and to establish a sense of how the texts are socially and culturally constructed and how they invite the creation of specific meanings across time and societies.
