This unit extends students' understanding of assessment issues and focuses on current trends in educational assessment at an international, national and local level. The key themes of the unit include: the nature and purpose of educational assessment; the current trends in educational assessment; the principles of effective assessment; and the practical application of assessment principles both within and beyond the classroom context.
