Unity and Diversity: International Studies Research Option - INTS310

This unit uses key themes to explore the development of different cultures to the present day. Students will work closely with a supervisor in the Department of International Studies: Languages and Cultures undertaking semi-guided research in one of the languages and cultures offered in the Department. Assessment is by individual research projects which engage with select examples from literature, theatre, film, music, fine arts, education, or linguistics, to examine relationships between language and culture. One of the assessment tasks is a carefully articulated research paper written in English or in the language students are studying. When requesting “special approval” students should include the name of the supervisor who has pre-approved their project.
