Ancient Greek C - AHIS308
This unit aims to develop the skills of history students in order to support advanced study of the ancient Greek language. It builds on the introduction to the language provided in AHIS108 and AHIS209, offering a systematic analysis of grammar and introducing the concepts of dialectal variation and historical development in the classical and post-classical periods. The unit also aims to help students develop their skills in reading original Greek literary and documentary texts, and analyse the significance of Greek for the study of relevant ancient cultures.
