Indigenous Politics, Policy and Activism - ABST304
This unit examines social justice matters that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities through a variety of political, legal and human rights issues. The aim of the unit is to introduce students to key ideas associated with social justice and politics. Various historical, political, social and institutional powers will be investigated to illustrate how they have contributed to a range of policies that influence the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Importantly Indigenous led social justice movements, such as Native Title and Land Rights will be examined.
