Radical and disruptive change is the norm in today’s organisations. Successfully managing these changes enables you to make a difference in your work and in your life. This unit provides you with the insights, capabilities and tools necessary to face up to the challenges along the way. You will learn how to effectively influence change by developing a change mindset, creating a productive change cycle, and leading yourself and others on the change journey. Managing change is the discipline of influencing yourself and others to achieve a purpose. The unit provides an intellectual understanding of the dynamics and leadership of change. It introduces you to techniques for mapping out change and addressing the leadership challenges it creates. You will develop an awareness of and ability to handle the emotions that change arouses in yourself and others. It enhances your ability to act intelligently in practice. It helps you to understand and influence change in uncertain, complex, demanding and often confronting situations.
