Information Technology - WFIT001
This unit provides an understanding of the role of information systems and technology in society and more specifically in today’s business environments and builds on basic computer literacy skills to a level required for tertiary studies. Students will gain practical skills searching for, collecting, retrieving, managing and presenting information using relevant software applications. They will also examine key social and ethical issues associated with the use of information technology and information systems, such as equity and access, privacy, freedom of information and copyright. Students will engage in regular research and analysis of various topics relating to information systems and communication technology and apply their newly gained skills to find solutions to real life case studies.
