The honours program commences at the beginning of semester 1 only and is 2 semesters in duration. Admission to the honours year will require a weighted average SNG (Standard Numerical Grade) of 70 over all Psychology units and a weighted average SNG of 75 over all 300 level Psychology units and a minimum of 72 credit points. This minimum entry requirement also applies to any students who transfer into the BPsych(Hons) program. Should a student not meet the requirements, they will graduate with either a Bachelor of Commerce with the degree of Bachelor of Arts - Psychology or a Bachelor of Commerce with the degree of Bachelor of Science - Psychology.

Overview and Aims of the Program The Bachelor of Commerce with the degree Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) equips you with a comprehensive range of business skills and knowledge through flexible unit choice across a variety of business and commerce disciplines.

This program lets you gain a comprehensive understanding of Commerce and business functions, strategy and skills whilst equipping you with a wide range of fundamental psychological concepts which will help you understand how people think, act and feel.

Progression to honours is completed in the 5th year, subject to a specified level of high achievement. On completion of this degree, students are able to proceed to postgraduate training in psychology towards registration as a psychologist.

Program Standards and Quality

Graduate Destinations and Employability The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) is a degree with an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited sequence of study and allows you to proceed to further study in the profession of psychology or a higher research degree.
