Environmental Geology - GEOS375
Human activity has had an unprecedented impact on the Earth. We have modified – and continue to modify – our planet. This unit deals with the interaction of people and the geological environment, including issues arising from people's occupation and exploitation of the Earth. The unit covers topics such as land contamination, the impact of resource extraction, changes to the Earth’s biogeochemical cycles and climate, as well as geological hazards. The lecture program includes invited speakers from industry.
