Accounting and Governance - ACCG101
This unit aims to assist students an awareness of the overall concept of governance, accountability, risk and regulatory factors that impact accounting professionals in society. The link between accounting and governance is discussed through the concepts of measurement, valuation, conceptual framework, reporting and communicating financial and non-financial information. Students will be introduced to ideas of entrepreneurship, objectivity, and professional attributes with emphasis on understanding the relationships between managers, shareholders, boards, and other key stakeholders.
