Stylistics and the Teaching of Literature - LING907
This unit considers the use of linguistics in the study of style; the meaning of literary texts and their value in particular communities; the status of texts as literary artefacts; stylistics and the teaching of first and second language literatures; language, literature and socio-cultural background; genre and linguistic description; methods of teaching the language of literature; and verbal art and cross-disciplinary issues.
