Border Security and Migration - PICX907

This unit examines the nature and causes of migratory and refugee movements in the past and present and their effects on their security of states and societies. It aims to assess the political and practical measures being taken both by the developed and developing countries to control the migratory flows. Thereby special attention is paid to national border control mechanisms as well as international cooperation that comprise both state and non-state actors. Another focus of this unit is to analysis the political and societal effects of the integration of immigrants.
