Academic English 2 - WFEN002
This unit focuses on the skills students need to develop a clear understanding of the discussion genre through the exploration of contemporary social issues across the humanities, science and business fields. There is a strong focus on critical and analytical thinking, evaluation of different academic viewpoints and on the appropriate academic expression, both spoken and written, of different points of view. Academic English 2 requires students to apply their Academic English skills to a wider range of contexts of increasing levels of complexity and thereby aims to progress students into effective listeners, proficient readers, confident speakers and competent writers using English for academic purposes.
