Corporate Acquisitions - MGSM858

This unit examines the various forms of corporate combinations and the motivations for corporate acquisitions, accounting, tax and legal issues associated with corporate acquisitions in Australia. The pricing and financing of acquisitions, corporate restructuring and integration issues are also examined. The study of corporate acquisitions is truly interdisciplinary and for this reason, this unit will draw on material from the fields of strategy, accounting, law, economics and corporate finance. The focus of the unit will primarily be on public company acquisitions, although issues related to the acquisition of private entities will be examined.
