Volcanic Geology B - GEOS814

This unit examines modern (Cainozoic) magmatic environments of the Pacific as a key to reconstruction of ancient magmatic environments. Fieldwork and literature research form the basis for description and interpretation of the active magmatic environments of New Zealand (or a similar Pacific-based magmatic setting) and assessment of their relevance to reconstruction of ancient volcanic-plutonic terrains.
