Overview and Aims of the Program This award provides a pathway for university graduates in any discipline to acquire qualifications that are fully recognised by CPA Australia and CA Australia and New Zealand and then go on to study more advanced units in accounting.

Key features:
• Study advanced subjects in accounting such as - Advanced Financial Reporting, Advanced Corporate Accounting, Management Control Systems, Information Systems in Business.

Specialisations:
• A specialisation must be chosen at the time of application.
• Students seeking to specialise in Actuarial Studies, Business Management and Organisations, Economics, Human Resource Management or Marketing may be required to undertake additional units to meet the requirements of their specialisation. We recommend these students seek academic advice before enrolling in this program.
• Students specialising in Actuarial Studies can commence in Session 1 only.

Program Standards and Quality

The program is subject to an ongoing comprehensive process of quality review in accordance with a pre-determined schedule that complies with the Higher Education Standards Framework. The review is overseen by Macquarie University's peak academic governance body, the Academic Senate and takes into account feedback received from students, staff and external stakeholders.

This program is also accredited with the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia following a review of the content of the program, the quality of the teaching staff and graduates, as well as teaching, learning and assessment methods. An annual report is submitted and a detailed review is conducted (every 5 years) by both of the above-stated professional accounting bodies.
