Competition and Strategy in Asia/Pacific - MGSM857

The growth of the Asia-Pacific region brings diverse opportunities for international firms. This unit is designed to provide a management framework for developing and implementing business strategies in individual Asian industries, as well as examining strategic and organisational priorities for the region as a whole. Using appropriate strategic analysis frameworks, interactive lecture-discussions, case studies and action learning we will consider the experience of Australian and international companies competing in Asia-Pacific countries. This unit will explore the complex interdependence of national cultures, management philosophies, corporate strategies and institutional voids on business performance in the Asia-Pacific region.
