Elect Cities: Christianity in Phrygia from the First Century to Great Persecution - AHPG835
This unit involves an in-depth study of a largely rural area of Roman Asia Minor during the early centuries of the growth of Christianity. Christianity in the life of small cities including Pisidian Antioch, Apollonia, Eumeneia and Temenothyrae will be examined. Issues relating to how centre and periphery interacted in the Roman empire will be studied. This unit offers students the opportunity to special studies of particular places, specifically the study of ancient local history of the cities in the region.
