Advanced Valuation for Corporate Finance - AFCP859
This unit will help students develop skills required in the assessment and valuation of projects, companies or divisions. The material will be equally useful for anyone who has a role in business development, strategic planning or advising companies on investment or restructuring decisions. In practice there is a variety of valuation techniques used. This unit will equip students to address a wide range of valuation situations. Building on the principles from corporate finance we will consider in detail the following areas: advanced cost of capital and valuation methodologies, real options, risk and valuation and financial modelling. Valuation in an international context will also be considered. The unit will include exposure to the technique of Monte Carlo simulation using the @Risk software, and explore its application in valuation.
