Risk in Financial Institutions - AFCP806

This unit explores risk management in the context of a financial institution as well as the regulatory environment. All the major risk types are introduced including credit, funding, market and operational. In this way students gain an integrated perspective of risk management across the entire organisation. The unit draws on case studies and the experience of the GFC, focussing on the crucial role of corporate governance in determining risk outcomes. We use the psychological frameworks of behavioural finance to understand how risk culture can be enhanced.
