Evolutionary Psychology - PSY439

Evolutionary psychology is an exciting new approach to the study of pychology that is informed by modern principles of Darvinian evolution. It provides a unified theoretical perspective on a wide range of psychological phenomena, across the many branches of psychology. In this course, we discuss the foundations and key assumptions of evolutionary psychology. Controversial issues and challenges to evolutionary psychology will be considered and seminars will focus on such topics as sexual jealousy, stalking, disgust, incest, detecting cheaters, and cooperation.
