Psychology of Voodoo Science - PSY435
This unit examines 'voodoo' science, including Pathological science, which involves self-deception (eg cold fusion, N-rays); Psuedoscience, which involves beliefs falsely portrayed as science (eg creationism, homeopathy); and Scientific fraud, which involves deliberate deception (eg. Cyril Burt, Trofim Lysenko). In each case we will explore its psychological basis.
