Modern Polish Theatre - PLH325
The unit is offered externally and is intended for students who have done all the Polish units on 100 and 200 levels or have equivalent knowledge of Polish to read modern plays in the original. It is assumed that students who do not have fluency in reading and writing in Polish will read the plays in English. The unit examines several contemporary plays as examples of the diversity of writing styles in Polish theatre. Plays by I. S. Witkiewicz, W. Gombrowicz, S. Mrożek and T. Różewicz will be studied in Polish or English.
