Introduction to Vocal Studies - MUS205
This unit introduces students to the voice as an instrument. The singing voice and its role in solo and ensemble-specific situations within popular music styles are explored. No previous singing experience is required. Through studying elements of voice science, students learn technical and foundational aspects of the voice. Vocal health and vocal care strategies are also discussed. Students apply this knowledge to their individual vocal program, aspirations and abilities. Lecture and tutorial attendance is a unit requirement.
