Exploring Japanese Literature - JPS222
This unit is designed to introduce students to the enjoyment of reading Japanese literary works (in English) as well as enhancing their understanding of some aspects of Japanese literature from a socio-cultural perspective. This unit focuses on children's literature, young adult literature and detective stories in the modern period. This unit is taught in English and no prior knowledge of Japanese is required. Assessment is based on class participation and assignments such as online quizzes, presentation, and a 1,500–2,000 word English essay.
