Contemporary and Postmodernist Literature - ENGL203
This unit examines some major directions taken by literature in the latter half of the 20th century. The subjects of special study include: precursors of post-modernist literature such as Literature of the Absurd and Beat writing; post-modernist poetry and fiction; magic realism; and the effects on contemporary fiction of previous post-modernist writing.
